Chesham Fringe

Ensemble Inspire presented their original music theatre production, Strictly Classical, featuring original arrangements of dance music from around the world. With a compère and audience participation, the performance offered a unique and engaging musical theatre experience. The show was performed to a full house as part of the inaugural Chesham Festival.

St Mary's Harvest Festival

We were delighted to be invited to perform at a special concert celebrating the Harvest Festival at the beautiful St Mary’s Church. Alongside an arrangement of Robert Schumann’s Harvest Song, we performed original works for violin, cello and harmonica, together with a selection of ensemble pieces. Bringing together the distinctive colours of each instrument, we shared a varied repertoire with the audience on a beautiful autumn afternoon, as the season gradually deepened.

Takemitsu Society UK

World première of Dreamtides, a new work by Ensemble Inspire member Andrew Melvin, specially composed for the ensemble. The work was performed as part of a concert organised by the Takemitsu Society at Warehouse Studios in London. This expansive four-movement work brought Ensemble Inspire together with Japanese shinobue and ryūteki player Emi Watanabe and electric guitarist Joel Bell. Composed music and improvisation came together to create a distinctive and richly varied sound world.
