5. SuperDuo2025 Project Began

From there, the project began, transcending the time difference between Japan and the UK. True to its name, once SuperDuo started working on a project, ideas began to bubble up.

As 2025 dawned, we realised that a year had passed since the Noto earthquake.

In January 2025, the framework for the event began to take shape.

In addition to SuperDuo’s performance, there would be a video introducing Suzu, a team of Japanese and British volunteers called ‘MandeMaiSuzu’ would be formed to provide lunch, the event would be streamed online from St. Mary’s Church, which would serve as the venue, and there would be time to connect with volunteers in Suzu and the UK online on the day of the event, as well as sales of salt specialising in Suzu, also dancing the traditional Suzu work song ‘Suna-tori-bushi’ with the British audience, and even a crowdfunding campaign alongside the event

— it had grown into a major event
