We received a self-introduction and message from Mio, who will be joining us as a guest artist for the Super Duo 2024 evening performance.
For more than 5 years after I moved to the UK, I barely touched a computer. Later, when I started taking an interest in the harmonica scene back in Japan and searched online, I came across a photo celebrating Mio's CD release.
What’s more, it was released by FONEC—the very same record company I used to work with—so I instantly felt a warm sense of connection to her!
A few years later, when we met (I thought it was our very first time meeting), I was completely shocked to learn that she had actually heard my performance before!
~ A Message from Mio ~
I perform at Ryogoku Monten Hall every year for concerts, and I had the wonderful opportunity to play there again this past May.
Looking back, even before the venue relocated to Ryogoku—back when it was the "Monnaka Tenjo Hall" in Monzen-nakacho—I used to record my competition application entries there.I even went to watch Shima’s concert there once.
Because of all these memories, being able to stand on the exact same stage with Shima at Monten Hall fills me with deep emotion that is hard to describe.
I was asked to share a message that gives a sense of who I am, though I don’t consider myself anyone particularly special to talk about!
Instead, I’d like to share a few traits from Getters Iida’s Five-Star Three-Heart fortune telling that I personally felt were totally spot-on:
"Not great in group settings"… I'm really not suited for structured organizational activities."Often perceived as hard to approach"… I get told this quite a lot! "Prefers the shade"… I dislike hot and bright weather, and I’m definitely a night owl.
Apparently, I also have a star that means "clinging to nostalgia." That actually rings true! Recently, my university club (Harmonica Society) friends reunited after several decades. I am so overjoyed that we get to perform together at the "95th Anniversary Concert" (Free Admission) held at Nerima Culture Center Main Hall on Sunday, October 13, starting at 12:30 PM.
I’ve been happily volunteering to help prepare for it!Also, I supposedly have a star for being "stubborn and sticking to things once decided." Thinking back on what I’ve stubbornly stuck with, my career as a chromatic harmonica instructor—which I started when returning to work after childbirth—has already passed the 10-year mark!
The annual "Chromatic Harmonica Concert" that I host with my students is celebrating its 8th edition this year. It will be held at the Musa Kawasaki Symphony Hall Civic Exchange Room on the afternoon of Sunday, October 20 (Free Admission).
Finally, looking at my career fortune for August 2024, it says: "Approach your work with the intention of giving it everything you’ve got." This must surely be referring to my guest appearance at "Super Duo 2024"!
Though I'm a bit concerned about the star that says "one step behind the beat," of course I plan to give it my absolute all. Knowing I have a star that says "you will thrive by leveraging your ideas and artistic talent" is my biggest source of encouragement!
SuperDuo2024の夜公演にゲスト出演してくださる畠山さんに自己紹介とメッセージをいただきました。
イギリスに移住してから5−6年ほどは殆どパソコンも触らずに過ごしていた私。改めて日本のハーモニカの様子について興味を持ち始めてネット検索をしたときに見たのが、美桜さんのCD発売の写真でした。
しかも、私がお世話になったレコード会社FONECからということで、勝手に親近感を覚えていました！
その数年後にご縁あってお会いした時に（私は初対面だと思っていました）、私の演奏を聴いていただいたことがあると知った時は腰が抜けそうにびっくりしてしまいました。

両国門天ホールには毎年コンサートでお邪魔しておりまして、今年も5月に演奏させていただく機会がありました。
思えば両国に移る前、門前仲町の「門仲天井ホール」時代から、コンテストに応募するための録音でも利用させていただくなどお世話になっております。
史真さんのコンサートを見に行ったこともありました。ですので、このたび史真さんと門天ホールで同じステージに立てるということには何とも言えない感慨深いものがあります。
畠山実桜の人となりが伝わるようなメッセージを、ということですので、特段どなたかにお伝えするほどの人間でもないのですが、ゲッターズ飯田さんの五星三心占いから自分で「当たってる！」と思うものを一部ご紹介したいと思います。
「集団行動が苦手」…組織での活動は向いていません。「話しかけづらいと思われやすい」…よく言われます。「日影が好き」…暑いのも眩しいのも苦手で、かつ夜型です。
ほかに「思い出にすがる」という星もあるそうで、たしかに最近は大学時代の部活動（ハーモニカ・ソサイエティ）の仲間がウン十年ぶりに集まってくれて練馬文化センター大ホールで10月13日(日)12：30開演の「創部95周年演奏会」（入場無料）で一緒に演奏できることになったのがとても嬉しく、ボランティアで一生懸命に準備をしています。
また、「頑固で一度決めたら貫き通す」星も持っているらしいので、なにか頑固に貫いていることはあるだろうかと思いめぐらしてみると、産後の社会復帰で始めたクロマティック・ハーモニカの講師歴がもう10年以上になっていました。
生徒さんたちと年1回開催する「クロマチック・ハーモニカの音楽会」も今年で8回目を数えます。こちらはミューザ川崎シンフォニーホール市民交流室で10月20日(日)のお昼過ぎから開演です（入場無料）。
そして、2024年8月の仕事運をみると「自分の力を出しきるつもりで取り組みましょう」とのことです。これはきっと「Super Duo 2024」のゲスト出演のことでしょう。
「ワンテンポ遅い」星が気がかりですが、もちろん全力でやるに決まっています。「アイデアや芸術系の才能を活かせれば力を発揮する」星が心の支えです。
